Chouhan distributes cheques to students to buy laptops.

In a prelude to Assembly elections, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday distributed cheques for the purchase of laptops to students who have scored above 85 per cent in class XII and also handed over loan sanction letters to 90 youths to set up business enterprise.

The Chief Minister, who is seeking the third term, announced that the state government would next month distribute laptops to those students of private schools who have scored 85 per cent and above in class XII.

Madhya Pradesh Congress unit Tuesday alleged that the works conducted under the Bundelkhand package in the region were of poor quality.

In a letter to Panna district collector, state Congress unit spokesman Mukesh Nayak expressed disappointment over a dam, built at a cost of crores, that collapsed two days back in the region.

He has said that he is in no competition with either of them and is actually number three in this list.

Gwalior: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is “humble” like Atal Behari Vajpayee and BJP wants both Chouhan and Narendra Modi “play a major role” in securing India an important place in the world, senior party leader LK Advani said on Saturday.

“Vajpayee implemented several developmental schemes including road network, but he always remained very humble and far away from arrogance.

“Similarly, Chouhan has also formulated a large number of development and welfare schemes like Ladli Laxmi scheme and Mukya Mantri Teerth Darshan Yojna, and implemented them successfully. Despite that I found Chouhan very humble, like Vajpayee,” Advani told BJP’s booth-level coordinators in Gwalior.

BJP to give 50 pc tickets to women in MP Assembly polls: CM ,Mp Election Updates

In a bid to increase women's participation in governance, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that BJP will give 50 percent of tickets to women in the upcoming state Assembly elections.

"This decision has been taken to ensure that women's participation in governance goes up. The time has come for women to rule and men sit at home", Chouhan said.

The Chief Minister said that the outcome of Karnataka Assembly elections would not have any bearing on Madhya Pradesh polls, which are due to be held by year-end.

Bhopal: Nine new industrial areas will be established over 761 hectares of land in the state. A sum of Rs 255 crore will be spent on the development of these industrial areas. In-principle consent in this connection was given at the apex Investment Augmentation Empowered Committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here on Tuesday. Finance Minister Raghavji, Commerce and Industries Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Chief Secretary Avani Vaish were present on the occasion. Chouhan said that establishment of new industrial areas is one of the top priority of the State Government. This will increase capital investment apart from generating employment opportunities. He instructed to give special attention to quality control of development works in these areas.
